Gee with all these so called “Christians” refusing service to those they don’t like there must have been a part of the bible I missed. You know like when Jesus questioned people before he gave out the loaves and fishes. Being a Christian used to mean a follower of Christ. When did that change? You are supposed to love your fellow man. Not love only those you agree with.
This is really shameful behavior and I think that if Christ would walk the Earth today it would be just the money changers that would get a thrashing.

Ahem, so He who was present at a marriage in Cana of Galilee would have nothing to say about this so called ‘marriage?’ Excuse me? He has already spoken on the issue.
The Lord freely fed the hungry to verify Himself; people did not come to Him boasting of their decadence; and when trapped in their sin, reasonable people begged for His mercy.
You want the baker to act against HIS conscience to please you?
The same liberty that you have to bake a cake per your conscience, gives the others the same liberty NOT to bake the cake, and you should stand with the scriptures and the Lord of another servant.

If a person is buying a product I really don’t see where the baker is the one that should judge him or her. Judge not lest ye be judged.

Bigotry is reaching a conclusion because of unfounded bias.
Charity? Give your last piece of food to a starving man who killed your spouse, while you die of famish. I’m afraid we are not quite that type.
But we are not speaking of hunger. Would it not be equally wrong of you to expect a man to change his mind because of principal?
Why can’t you be ‘charitable’ toward he who you disagree with?

I actually think I am being charitable. I think we need to agree to disagree on this matter. I think you are beyond wrong and I assume you feel the same about me. If people want to limit their businesses in this way they can be my guest. I just don’t think that a persons beliefs should be a consideration. It will probably affect their bottom line as well but that is their problem.

It is simply the dictates of another to enforce things that are not welcome.

I have to agree with Gale here, to a degree, in that if you are someone who sells pastry, then sell pastry to anyone who has the money to pay for it. Wedding cakes somehow have got so much attention in this whole debate, and yet I think most people on both sides of the issue would balk at the notion of say, a vendor refusing to sell someone a shirt, or a piece of furniture, or a house, etc., because they believed the customer might be using it for “gay purposes”…
I do agree that according to Christ’s example, He was definitely willing to share the “loaves and fishes” with anyone who was hungry. But then, at the same time, He called out sin for what it is, and He didn’t seem to have a problem with both showing love to His fellow man, and simultaneously calling them to Repentance. I would say being a true “follower of Christ” means you can’t just pick one or another, you have to do both…

I have said else where, This is NOT about the cake. While I do see your sympathies toward all, one could argue it is the RIGHT thing to do.
Not so fast though. The bakery owner would be willing (as a private company) to sell cakes for every other reason it seems; his issue is with his understanding of marriage, and like it or not, you simply cannot dismiss a man’s principles. Would to God more people acted with conviction.
The ‘no shirt no service’ is a form of prejudice, and nobody complains. A man wears a tee shirt on a golf course, and is also turned away; no body says a word.
The business owner has rights equal to those of a patron. There are many bakers who would be happy for the business.
Besides, as proof that this was never about the cake, why would a person want a product from somebody who does not want to give it to them…

Because what is ultimately desired is not the cake itself, but for society as a whole to embrace and endorse their lifestyle…
I am not arguing that this is not something to be stood against C-Storm, I suppose I just don’t think that selective cake sales are the way to go about it. It’s just playing right into the hands of the propaganda.
If I had a bakery, I’d sell you a cake and then tell you that Jesus is the only way to be free from Sin. Sure, you’re still going to most likely be demonized in the end, but I’d rather be called a “bigot” because I preached Christ and Him crucified, rather than just for refusing to sell someone some flour and sugar…

Even to this day, being a Christian means a follower of Christ, however, those “Christians” have totally commercialized the concept of christianity to suit their own needs, that they refuse service to those they don’t like, obviously.
The basic tenets of christianity don’t mean anything to them, for they live by their own ideology: “love thy affluent neighbor as thyself, and shun the others who don’t matter.” Praise the Lord!
